Graduations in Honduras

We recently celebrated the graduation for the 6th graders in both the communities of Barbasco and San Rafael, a great achievement for these kids making it through the 6 years of Primary School - 20% of students in Honduras don't make it this far.

3 years ago GVI Phoenix started it's very own Colegio, completely free and based in San Rafael (this represents secondary education from grades 7 to 9, normally unaffordable to nearly all young adults in rural communities ).

After 3 years of hardwork, our very first students, aged between 14 and 25 received their diplomas. It was an amazing night for all, and words of hope for the future were shared by all, and the pride was evident in the faces of the students, their families, teachers and of course, everyone there from GVI Phoenix.
