Hands-on science in Itzapa - Guatemala
The GVI Phoenix gang in Guatemala is always trying to find ways to make science classes a little more “hands on”. However, this often proves to be a challenge due to a lack of science-based resources! Luckily, coloured chalk has come to the rescue.
This week up in Itzapa in Toliman class, students recreated el sistema locomotor (the movement system) in teams, using one of their team members as a life-size stencil. The class had to follow a diagram, and accurately draw and label all the parts of the system before presenting their model to the class. Credit must go to David and Mariam, whose artistic skills both came out to shine!
