High School Update – launch of Plan Cuy in Ecuador

Great news from Ecuador as Chandna Agarwal, short term construction volunteer and GVI Ambassador, was able to start building the first cuy (guinea pig) house as part of our latest sustainable high school funding initiative – Plan Cuy.

With generous fundraising from past volunteers, we were able to offer Diana and Luisa who graduated in July from Huayrapungo the option of a cow under Plan Moo, or a specially designed cuy house and cuyes for breeding and selling, enabling them to save money for their high school costs, and the chance to run their own micro-business. Both have opted for the guinea pigs, and so after we complete Luisa’s cuy house, we will work on Diana’s. Keep in touch to see pictures of the completed houses plus their residents!!
