Escuela Chiriza passes two month mark in Nicaragua
The second month finished in our new school in Chiriza. Attendance varies depending on the weather and if children need to work or take care of their siblings while their parent(s) are away from the home. On average, we are seeing 80-120 children each day at the school.
Hard work by everyone to prepare classes for the children and organize the new school and set a routine each day. More to be done but huge thanks to current and past volunteers for their work within the school and the care they have shown for the kids.
Also, a huge thanks to GVI Phoenix staff member Karla and our newest staff member and community leader in Chiriza, Tita. We could not accomplish what we have without them. Next to come, the construction of a kitchen so we can serve the children rice and beans each day.
