Freddy update from Honduras

A bright student, named Freddy, is determined to further his education at any cost. GVI Phoenix has been an integral part in making this dream a reality. Several years ago Freddy completed the San Rafael primary school, where GVI Phoenix has been working for the past four years, though there were not any other options for him to further his studies, as his family could not afford to send him to the local High School in Copan.

After two years of being out of school, GVI Phoenix decided to give Freddy a scholarship to attend the local high school in Copán for weekend classes. This involved walking almost 2 hours from his mountain village in San Rafael to the school.

This year GVI upped the anti as Freddy showed a determination to learn more, faster, helping him with some monthly living expenses so he can live in Copán and study every day, as well as his books and utensils. Freddy's attitude towards learning has helped set the vision in place for the GVI Phoenix Secondary School in San Rafael, a blog about their recent exam results will follow next week!

How does GVI Phoenix make a difference?

The following film was made in Guatemala, though the message is the same across all GVI Phoenix projects
