Reading in Honduras

To start the week the first grade class at San Rafael moved on from learning the alphabet and began learning their syllables (ma, me, mi, mo, mu). It was a lot of work but by Wednesday the class had begun to read their first sentences by themselves!

The progress that they have made in just one week has been remarkable and we know that they will continue to master the other syllables to come and improve their reading ability.
