Facts and figures

On an annual basis we aim to provide:
First time education or educational reinforcement to almost 2000 children in primary school
Secondary education to over 200 children and adults
Employment to over 75 local people; more-so indirectly
100 energy saving wood-burning stoves and 15,000 trees planted
Around 100,000 teaching hours
Over 500,000 pieces of fruit
1,000’s of pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, colouring pencils, work-books and erasers
Over 300,000 whole or subsidized meals
Daily education in 16 communities across Latin America
Direct benefits to over 500 families

CONGRATULATIONS to all the Challengers on our first six Charity Challenges of 2011, biking from Guatemala to Honduras, the inaugural Nicaragua Volcano Challenge, Brazil's Chapada Diamantina Challenge , Guatemala's first Caribbean Kayak Challenge, Perú´s Cerani Pass and Ecuador's Volcano Challenge. Nicaragua's second volcano Challenge is set for 3rd-6th November and the third Guatemala Volcano Challenge dates are set for 27th November -2nd December.

New kids and a paintjob in Santa María - Guatemala

With 40 new kids in Santa María, our numbers here have soared over 200. Every class has a minimum of 15 children and the volunteers are putting all their enthusiasm and energy into them and the kids are improving daily.

We are continuing with the 6 classes and have also reintroduced the English teaching to the secondary school children. Also, the school received an amazing facelift, with the volunteers putting in their own creativeness onto the walls of the school and it is amazing!

Thank you everyone who contributed to make the project beautiful and also to all volunteers past and present who make a such a difference in the kids lives!
