New intake in pre-school and toothpaste in Nicaragua
It was classes as normal in the GVI Phoenix School Guardabarranco. In the morning classes we have a large number of preschool children. For many of them it´s their first time in a school setting and interacting with a large group of children.
This week was Gleydis´s first week at the school. She had never held a pencil before, and barely spoke more than a few words for her first few days. Come Friday, she was making friends, playing catch on the sports field and asking volunteers to take her picture.
Thanks to a generous donation by a former volunteer we have been able to continue with our monthly toothbrush and toothpaste program for the kids. Lastly, we celebrated the birthday of Yessenia, our local Nicaraguan teacher who works in Guardabarranco with the GVI team. Feliz cumpleaños Yessenia!
