Football in Ecuador

We’ve been polishing our Vuvuzuelas, spontaneously shouting “GOL” and donning our colours with pride! Forget the Premier League or the World Cup! This is real football. This is “Perugache/Moraspungo 2010”.

The Huayrapungo team fought like lions to secure a hard-fought draw (0-0), a nail-biting win (1-0) and a heart-breaking loss (0-5) with heroic performances recorded all across the pitch. Meanwhile, the team from Muenala recorded a sensational win (5-2) and a controversial loss (2-4) with exciting attacking play featuring strongly in both matches.

The boys from Larcacunga kept the scorers busy with a 5-0 thumping win and defended valiantly in their 1-3 loss. Last, but by no means least, the Larcacunga girls achieved a thrilling 1-0 victory, a closely fought 1-2 loss and a 3-0 win in a bloody encounter which saw two girls suffer bloody noses.
