Christmas in Guatemala
So, with 23 volunteers, staff and parents of staff to feed, we set about cooking 2 turkeys and an assortment of veggies and pud. Everyone cooked something and the results were excellent.
Traditional silly hats are the same world over! For some, it was the first time that jumpers, trousers and shoes were swapped for shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. For others, it was the first time away from home for Christmas.
Santa made an appearance for the pressie giving, hot off his job from handing out the presents in Itzapa. Another Christmas tradition the world over for the state of Santas was respected aswell!
The day turned to night quite quickly, so everyone headed in-doors, after some interesting fireworks, for several rounds of charades and a couple more drinks (only a couple mind you!). It was a great Christmas and thanks to everyone for putting on a fine spread, especially Rufus!
