Dia de la Raza in Nicaragua
The children at our school in La Thompson recently celebrated Dia de la Raza to commemorate their culture and indigenous roots. Many of the children dressed the part in celebrating this day and our local teachers, Yessenia and Karla, discussed their culture and the significance of this day in Nicaragua. 
The celebration was topped off with a bit of dancing and a judging of the best costume won by Luis (2nd grade) and Benita (2nd grade).
