Beans and Rice are Served in Chiriza, Nicaragua
A big step taken at our newest school in Chiriza. Our local builder, Don Pedro and his sons recently built the kitchen around the stove built earlier this year. We will now be able to serve the children who attend our school rice and beans on a daily basis.
This may sound insignificant but it is a vital aspect of the GVI Phoenix Projects and provides the children in Chiriza, who are generally malnourished and come to school hungry, with much needed nutrition and will aid them in concentrating and taking in more from the lessons taught by volunteers and local staff.
We can also safely store all our equipment in there. Huge thanks to our recent group of volunteers and intern, Valerie, who have done a fantastic job here! We couldn’t do this without our volunteers.
