Despedidas and Community Cooperation in Nicaragua

This past weekend, Aaron, our new project manager, intern Patrick and community members started constructing a fence around the school in La Thompson, which will keep roaming animals and other pests out!

We also said goodbye this month to three people who have been an integral part of the project in La Thompson. Steve was at the forefront of starting the project and his presence will be missed by GVI and the community. He'll be back!

Kat and Pat make their way back to work with us in Guatemala, after several months as staff in Nicaragua. They have worked with us in Guatemala and Ecuador, before Nicaragua.

They are gradually making their way through all the Phoenix projects and are integral in our work in Latin America, now and in the future. After another stint in Guatemala, they will be heading up Perú in October.

How does GVI Phoenix make a difference?

The following film was made in Guatemala, though the message is the same across all GVI Phoenix projects
