New project starts in Chiguata, Perú
We have started a new project in the community of Villa Santa Rosa de Chiguata and it has surpassed our expectations in terms of participation and popularity; we currently teach 60 children from K-6th grade and 6 secondary students.
The work has been challenging though rewarding with the area itself located at the foot of the Misti volcano, almost 3000m up, providing breathtaking views of Arequipa and home to the indigenous culture and the inhabitants' first language is Quechua.
The area is very impoverished and receives very little assistance from the government. Being far from the city center, it is mainly forgotten and disenfranchised from the rest of the population.
