Watertank building in Arequipa, Perú
Peter O'Farrell spent three weeks working on our new construction Project in Chiguata, Arequipa building a watertank for the school: "I can say it was a very rewarding experience"
"Although the work was difficult at times it was enjoyable, and we worked well as a team. The materials and tools used were quite basic but as you can see from the finished product the mason is a very skilled worker. The only electrical tool used was a jackhammer for a few hours one day help to dig the foundations."
"The people of Chiguata were also very friendly, stopping regularly to observe and ask about the construction. We met wives and children of co-workers, women and children living nearby and of course the children and teachers of the school. So it was a nice way to meet the people of the community as well as doing some meaningful work."
