Literacy and numeracy help in the Orphanage in Honduras

Big thank you to Sophie and now Shannyn on our Childcare and Orphanage Program for all the hard work they have put into helping at Angelitos Felices (the orphanage we work at here in Copan Ruinas). As well as giving fruit, we are providing sheets and activities for the children attending School to practice their studies, and when they have done that, they are free to join the little ones, colouring and playing outside (the colouring is very popular ).

The only problem now is that the kids enjoy working with the volunteers so much, especially the attention, help and praise they recieve, that after finishing their work, instead of going to play, they want to do more.

They have a lot of energy, and it can be challenge to try and give your time and attention to all the kids, but to work with them is a real joy, and nothing can replace that feeling, walking away from the Orphange, when you just can't wait to go back.

These kids are incredible. Without a doubt these afternoons are my favourite parts of the week.

These kids are incredible. Such a privilege to be part of their lives each week and to see their big smiles every time we arrive. Without a doubt my favourite afternoons of the week.
